Richland County, SC (WLTX) - The Richland County coroner says a heart attack, and not injuries from a crash, led to a log truck driver's death in Richland County Wednesday.

Coroner Gary Watts says 48-year-old Louis F. Grabowski of Summerville died following a collision which took place at 11 a.m. in the 5200 block of Highway 601.

State troopers say Grabowski's log truck went out of control, crossed the center line, and struck a Honda Fit.

Both drivers were able to get out of their vehicles before the truck and car ignited. Grabowski, however, suffered a fatal heart attack from stress related to the crash and died at the scene, Watts says.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
