Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) - Nick Jacobs scored 15 points off the bench
as the Alabama Crimson Tide held on for a 60-57 win over the LSU Tigers in a
Southeastern Conference conflict at Coleman Coliseum.
Trevor Releford had 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting and Levi Randolph and Rodney
Cooper each added 10 points for Alabama (15-8, 7-3 SEC) which has won three of
its last four.
Johnny O'Bryant III hung up a double-double with game-highs in points (22) and
rebounds (11) and Shavon Coleman chipped in 11 points for LSU (13-8, 4-6)
which had a three-game winning streak put to an end.
Both teams shot below 40 percent from the field in the first half as Alabama
led 27-21 at the break.
The Crimson Tide led by as many as 11 points in the second half but had that
lead slashed to just a single point, 54-53, with 1:57 remaining. Although
Alabama missed seven free-throw attempts in the last two minutes the Crimson
Tide held on with the Tigers missing on four 3-point attempts in the last
minute.
Alabama had a 43-36 edge in rebounds and a 14-7 advantage in second chance
points.
