(Lexington County) - A White Knoll High School student has been killed in a car accident which took place Wednesday night.
Byron Martin Jr., 16, of Gilbert was killed in a collision which took place about 10:30 p.m. on Harmon Street.
According to investigators, Martin was traveling down the road when he lost control of his car. The vehicle left the road, hitting a tree. Martin was thrown from the car. Investigators say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
He was transported to Palmetto Richland Memorial where he was later pronounced dead.
The collision remains under investigation.
