RNE Students Collect Food at Obama Event

Students from Richland Northeast High School volunteered their time on Sunday outside the gates of Williams Brice Stadium to collect canned food form their Hope for the Holidays project. On Sunday, the students collected nearly 4,000 cans of food from people coming to the Obama rally.

Hope for the Holidays is an annual event sponsored by the studnets at RNE to collect food for various agencies in the Midlands. This year's collection is being donated to God's Storehouse.

In addition to the food collection, each year, RNE classes adopt families and help them by providing gifts for the children.

Hope for the Holidays is one of the ways the students at Richland Northeast are giving back to the community.
