(Charleston) - A two-year-old child was mauled to death by a pit bull Thursday morning in Summerville.
The dog was owned by the child's grandmother. She was babysitting him at the time of the incident.
Dorchester County officials tell WCSC-TV the boy wandered in the backyard without her knowing it.
The animal was seized by animal control.
No charges have yet been filed in this case.
