Deputies: Murder Suspect Likely Has Returned to Midlands

Richland County (WLTX) - Richland County deputies say a man accused of a 2006 shooting death is likely back in the Midlands.

Richland County deputies are looking for information about Carlos Saucedo.

"I would just appeal to everyone that if they see him, don't just keep on going, don't just look the other way, to actually make that effort to call law enforcement because this will provide closure to family members," said Sgt. Kevin Isenhoward of the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Saucedo is accused of killing 50-year-old Duck Kee Kim back on August 24, 2006. The incident happened at the pool hall that Kim owned on Decker Boulevard.

Investigators say Kim asked Saucedo and others who were arguing to leave the pool hall. Investigators say one shot was fired into the business and Kim tried to lock the door. A second shot hit and killed Kim.

For a time, investigators had believed Saucedo was in Mexico; however, they've now developed information which leads them to believe he's since returned to the country, and that he may be living in the Midlands. He's said to frequent the West Columbia, Dentsville, and Gaston areas.

"Anyone who's committed a crime like this is dangerous," Sgt. Isenhoward added. "Lots of times, they're desperate when they're on the run, so I wouldn't suggest anybody trying to confront him in any way but just call the police and we can get him picked up."

Deputies think he may have changed his appearance since the crime by dying his hair a bright color, and they believe he's being helped by people living in the area. Detectives say he may be in the company of his sister, Anna Gaona Saucedo, or an unidentified woman with blonde hair and the name "Kelly" tattooed on her ankle.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-559-TIPS.
