Lexington County (WLTX) ? Three people are dead after a motorcycle accident near Gilbert Saturday night.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says that three people were riding in a 2003 Honda GL 1800 three-wheeled motorcycle down Pond Branch Road near Two Notch Road around 9:45 p.m. Saturday. The motorcycle ran off the right side of the road due to excessive speed and hit a tree.
The driver of the motorcycle was 46-year-old Gary McLemore, of Leesville. McLemore, along with 17-year-old Chris Tilling, also of Leesville, and an unidentified female, were ejected from the motorcycle. No one was wearing a helmet. They all died at the scene.
Highway Patrol says that speed was a factor in this accident. Posted speed limit on Pond Branch Road is 55 miles per hour.
