COLUMBIA (WLTX) ? A high school athletics director who was battling a cancerous brain tumor has died. Richland Northeast High School's Mike Starnes was diagnosed with the tumor back in January. His wife, Diane, says Mike passed away around noon on Thursday at Lexington Medical Center.

The 43-year-old coach leaves behind his wife and two young daughters.
Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time.
