Georgetown (AP) -- A company that designs and makes conveyors for the recycling industry will open a new facility in South Carolina and create 60 new jobs.
The State Department of Commerce said Wednesday that MetalTech Systems of South Carolina will expand its operations in the state with a new facility in Georgetown County.
Commerce Secretary Joe Taylor said the company's decision is a testament to the area's work force and business climate.
MetalTech has purchased a 48,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Andrews. The plant will manufacture conveyor belts and other equipment that will be sold to private waste management companies and municipalities.
