Columbia (WLTX) -- Nearly 60 electric and utility workers from South Carolina have travelled to Kentucky, helping restore power after winter storms knocked out electricity for thousands.
Organizers say 34 workers from five South Carolina Co-ops left Monday morning for Paducah, Kent., in the western end of the Blue Grass State.
Another 24 Palmetto State workers arrived in Kentucky over the weekend to assist in the effort to restore power.
In all, more than 700 workers from 10 states have converged on Kentucky in light of one of their worst winter storms in recent memory.
