Woman Abducted From Work; Later Found Dead

Greenwood (WSPA) -- The Greenwood Police Department is investigating a the death of a woman who they say was abducted from her job Sunday morning.

The police department says surveillance video shows Dietra Elmore was working at the Li'l Cricket on Cambridge Avenue early Sunday morning when her husband Jimmy Elmore forcefully abducted her. Police say Dietra Elmore's body was found a short time later on East Cambridge Avenue. The police report says it appears Dietra Elmore tried to escape from the car Jimmy Elmore was driving and she had been stabbed and had a head wound. The warrant also states Elmore's car was found later at his home.

Warrants have been signed for Jimmy Elmore. He is charged with murder.

Greenwood Coroner Marcia Kelly identified 28 year old Dietra Culbreath Elmore as the victim. An autopsy will be perfromed Monday in Anderson.
