FAIRFIELD COUNTY (WLTX) -- The Fairfield County Coroner's Office now says a man run over early Saturday morning was already dead.
It happened at about 4:25 a.m. when a woman was driving north on Cole Trestle Road near the Monticello Reservoir.
According to Highway Patrol, the woman drove over a man who was lying in the middle of the road.
The man was 51-year-old Michael Stone of Blair.
Deputy Coroner Joe Silvia says Stone was dead prior to getting run over.
He says he is still waiting on a toxicology report to determine the exact cause of death.
Cheif Deputy Keith Lewis says the Sheriff's Office won't start a criminal investigation unless there appears to be foul play, which, he says, at this time there does not.
