Sheriff: Officers Negotiate a Standoff in Holly Hill

Holly Hill (WLTX) - Orangeburg deputies say a standoff between themselves and a man has ended.

Officers say the incident concluded just before 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Sheriff Larry Williams said just after 3 p.m. Sunday, his office got a call of a man that had pointed a fire arm at a Holly Hill police officer within the city.

He says the man then fled to Sugar Hill Road, which is in the Orangeburg County limits, and barricaded himself in a home.

Witnesses say they heard officers shoot tear gas into the home. The man was said to be the only one inside.

Williams says the man could face charges of brandishing a weapon at an officer.
