CONWAY (SCNow.com) - The Horry County Police Department says human remains recovered from a wooded area near Water Tower Road and Long Bay Road in January of this year have been identified as those of Alice L. Donovan.
Donovan was carjacked and kidnapped from the parking lot of the Conway Wal-Mart on Nov. 14, 2002 by two men who escaped from a Kentucky jail.
Those men, Chadrick Fulks and Brandon Basham, were convicted in federal court of murdering Donovan and sentenced to death.
Investigators said the pair dumped her body in a patch of woods somewhere around the state line in northern Horry County.
The remains were found January 24 by Horry County Police in a wooded area off Watertower Road.
The remains were sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification on April 9th, 2009.
