RIVERTON, Kan. (AP) -- Authorities are awaiting autopsy results to help determine why a man from South Carolina drowned after jumping into the Spring River.
The body of 28-year-old Christopher Robertson, of Tillman, S.C., was recovered Sunday near Riverton.
Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves says Robertson was questioned late Saturday because he was walking down the middle of Highway 66.
During the questioning, Robertson ran away and a deputy fired a stun gun when he refused to stop. Groves says Robertson climbed over a bridge railing and jumped.
The sheriff says the deputy reported that Robertson may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
