NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP,WLTX ) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled for a 2-year-old boy who police say was abducted early Tuesday morning.
North Charleston police said that 2-year-old Geomari Young was turned over to authorities by of 27-year-old Geonaldo Young. Police say that Young told an investigator that he would drop his son off at a fast food resturant in downtown Charleston. The Amber Alert was cancelled when a family member of Young's dropped off Geomari.
Police arrested Geonaldo Young at an apartment complex in Charleston Tuesday afternoon. He's been charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and kidnapping.
Authorities say they received a call from a woman around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, stating she had been assaulted by Young, her ex-boyfriend and father of the child. The woman says she was held against her will but managed to escape.
When police arrived, Young and the boy were gone.
