Pelion, SC (WLTX) -- Schools in the Lexington County town of Pelion are shut down early Wednesday, after Lexington District 1 officials say a water line broke in the area.
Classes are expected to resume Thursday.
District officials say Pelion Elementary and Fort Pond Elementray closed their doors at 11:30 a.m. Pelion Middle School and Pelion High School closed at 12:30 p.m.
Also, all afternoon activities were cancelled, according to district officials.
The water line break was responsible for a loss of water pressure for many Pelion residents, including nearby schools, according to district officials.
