Summerton, S.C. (WLTX) - A 5-year-old girl was reunited with her worried mom Tuesday night after being left all alone on a school bus for several hours.

Jenean Richardson didn't get home from school Tuesday night until 8:30. The 5-year-old was left on a bus all alone in the parking lot of Scott's Branch High School in Summerton.

Jenean's mother, Kelly Silver, says her daughter is usually home by 6pm from an after-school program with Clarendon District One. By 6:30 Tuesday night, Kelly started calling school officials. She eventually called the Clarendon County Sheriff's Department.

Jenean was found screaming and crying on the bus by two teenagers who happened to be in the area.

Clarendon Sheriff Randy Garrett says the little girl fell asleep on the bus and the driver didn't walk through the bus after he finished his route.

Clarendon District One officials have not commented on the incident.
