Cleveland, OH (WJW) -- A Cleveland mother was put in Jail Sunday, awaiting charges in connection with the beating death of her 5-year-old son.
Twenty-four-year-old Angel Glass brought Arshon Baker to the MetroHealth Medical Center Friday night with head injuries, cuts and bruises.
Glass told police she beat her son after he pulled on her dress to get her attention. She said she first beat him with a hairbrush, then with a belt. Glass said the boy tried to run but she grabbed his leg and he fell and hit his head on a coffee table.
A police spokesman said the child arrived at the hospital in full cardiac arrest. He said Arshon's body was covered with new and healed cuts, burns and bruises on his entire body. The child died on Saturday.
Glass is being held on suspicion of felonious assault and more charges could be coming following a police investigation.
Neighbors say they're shocked but never suspected Arshon was being abused.
