Lubbock, TX (KLBK) -- This weekend's loss 52-30 to Texas A&M made a frustrated Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach say some harsh workds about his players' love lives.
He blamed the loss to the Aggies, in part, on their "fat little girlfriends." That comment, repeated a couple times during the press conference Saturday night is now garnering national attention.
Some people in Lubbock, Texas got a laugh, while others were truly offended. One man even set up a website called fat-little-girlfriend dot com. As of Wednesday night, his site already had four-thousand hits. He insists it's all in good fun and means no offense to Red Raider fans.
But for the girlfriends of the team, it's no laughing matter.
Coach Leach said Saturday night he wouldn't apologize. He said the same thing Monday night.
