
Columbia (WLTX) - The Stuff-a-Bus sign-ups have begun, and they're already drawing a large crowd.
There was a long line at the State Fairgrounds Tuesday as people waited to fill out the necessary information.
The Salvation Army is accepting applications for this year's Christmas Assistance program, but it only lasts this week. Signups are taking place at the Ruff Building at the South Carolina State Fair Grounds on Rosewood Drive.
The times are as follows:
Tuesday, November 3 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Wednesday, November 4 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Thursday, November 5 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Friday, November 6 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
If you want to apply, you must bring the following items: picture ID & Social Security cards for everyone residing in the home, household Summary from D.S.S., proof of all income in the home for the past 30 days (pay stubs, unemployment statement, SSI Disability, Social Security statement, Verification of VA or other pensions). If you have a zero income, anyone 18 or older must show proof of zero wage (Zero wage statement from the unemployment office). You must also have proof of all household expenses paid in the past 30 days (not bills owed, but bills that were paid).
News19 will help collect toys for the Salvation Army in December and they will be given out shortly thereafter.
