Columbia, S.C. (WLTX) - The family of a Midlands toddler who died of complications from the H1N1 virus has set up a trust fund in her name.

The family has set up the "Solange Days Memorial Fund" at First Citizens Bank in honor of the toddler.

Two-year-old Solange Days died last Sunday of complications from the Swine Flu. A funeral was held Saturday for the toddler at Friendship Baptist Church on Lower Richland Boulevard.

On Wednesday [see original story] we spoke with Solange's mother who was heartbroken over the death of her daughter.

"It still seems like it's not really true,"says Arkiea Jones. She says Solange was born premature and suffered from chronic lung disease and hypertension making her more at risk from the H1N1 virus.

"It's very hard to know that there's something out there that you just can't protect your kids from,"says Jones.

Jones says she wants parents to be aware of their children, especially if they have a history of health problems, and to get them vaccinated.
