Newberry County (WLTX) - Newberry County deputies have arrested a man they say was operating an illegal video poker operation out of his home.
William Albert Mosley, 61, of Newberry was arrested and charged with possession of illegal gambling devices and operating an illegal gambling house.
Deputies say the arrest came after an investigation which lasted several months.
Officers say they conducted a search Monday afternoon at Mosley's home on Boundary Street. Officers say inside, they found six illegal video poker machines. According to investigators, Mosley was allowing people to play the machines and was making cash payoffs if credits were accrued.
Deputies say they found people playing the machines when they went inside, but those people were reprimanded and released.
Authorities say they also found several hundred dollars in the home. Investigators say the machines will be destroyed.
Mosley has been released on bond.
