Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- According to officials with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, agents arrested a 28-year-old Columbia man in connection with a robbery at an Aiken Burger King and charged him with 18 counts of kidnapping.

Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department arrested Toryast Jermaine Johnson and also charged him with one count of possession of weapon during the commission of a violent crime, one count of robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, and one count of carjacking.

Investigators say Johnson was one of four men involved in a daytime robbery at the restaurant where employees were forced into a walk-in cooler. Johnson was seen stealing a vehicle from a car wash and driving away, according to SLED agents.

One suspect was killed in the incident, and the other two were arrested.

Police in Aiken say 25-year-old Sean Rodriguez and 27-year-old Robert Mills forced the customers and employees into a cooler and made the managers give them money.

When the four men tried to get away, police were able to capture Rodriguez and Mills. A third suspect ran into a field and killed himself when police approached.
