West Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A 24-year-old man was paralyzed in one leg after being shot in October, and now West Columbia police need help in catching the shooter.

On October 15, police say Christopher Jacobs was leaving his job with a female co-worker at Columbia Farms on Sunset Boulevard when a suspect approached them from behind.

Police say the gunman fired a shot from behind Jacobs and the female, hitting Jacobs in the back.  The suspect then ran away, police say.

Jacobs was taken to the hospital.  He now is paralyzed from the knee down on his right leg.

West Columbia police describe the suspect as being an unknown male who was wearing blue jeans and a white puffy coat with black spots on it.
