GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina man charged with murder after his speeding Maserati plowed into a house and killed a man is scheduled for a court appearance.
The Greenville News reports that attorneys won't give the reason for John Ludwig's court appearance on Monday. A judge decided in September an ankle monitor for Ludwig could be removed.
Authorities say Ludwig was driving more than 85 mph and lost control of his Maserati on April 25. The car sped across a field before plowing into the back of 62-year-old Frederic Bardsley's home.
Bardsley was killed. His wife, who was upstairs, was unhurt. Ludwig suffered minor injuries.
Ludwig's attorneys have said he lost control after swerving to miss several deer.
