Clarendon County, SC (WLTX) - WLTX.com has more details now on the arrest of Bernard McDaniel, the principal at Scott's Branch High School in Clarendon County.

McDaniel, 52, was arrested November 12 in Florence County on a charge of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. He has since bonded out of jail and returned to work at the school, which is located in Summerton. Original Story: Principal Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

According to an incident report, McDaniel's wife told officers the two were arguing when he pulled a gun from his briefcase and aimed it at her. The report states he told his wife, "let's go," and motioned toward the door.

At that point, officers say the couple's 15-year-old child appeared and asked McDaniel to put the gun away, and he did.

Days later, the report says the wife wanted to recant her statement, but the incident report was filed anyway.
