Columbia, SC (WLTX) - We need some heroes to come out and help a Midlands family. This weekend there are a couple of different fundraisers taking place for the family of Mertyse Lemons. Lemons touched many people in her two year bout with colon cancer. That battle ended last month, a little more than a year after her husband died of a heart attack. The Lemons' six children are now living with a grandmother. There has been a date change on one of the events. Instead of Saturday, a benefit horse show will now take place Sunday at Folly Farms, located at 753 Langford Road in Blythewood, starting at 10:00 a.m. Santa will be at the Christmas party, along with live music and a silent auction. Another event going on Saturday for Lemons' family is a talent show. The "Night of Talent" will feature a nationally known Christian comedian. It starts at 5:30 p.m. at the International Praise Church of God in Elgin. The church is located at 5071 Percival Road. Related link: Mertyse Lemons Fundraiser
