COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina hasn't been affected by the snow falling elsewhere across the South, but there has been some hazardous weather in the Palmetto State.

The National Weather Service said a flood advisory was still in place Saturday afternoon after heavy rains earlier in the week pushed the Congaree River to test its banks in the Columbia area.

The river crested at nearly 17 feet Friday and was expected to fall several feet Saturday. A jogging path along the river's edge was closed as a precaution.

The Congaree's high level also caused some flooding issues farther downstream. Forecasters said a flood warning was in place for the Santee River until later Saturday after waters from the Congaree pushed that river higher.
