Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Emergency crews say two bookbags triggered a suspicous package scare in Downtown Columbia.
The package was found near an ATM machine near the intersection of Main and Washington Streets.
Officials sent their bomb squad robot to retrieve the item, and it turned out to be a two bookbags filled with clothes.
Main Street was blocked from Hampton to Washington while crews dealt with the situation. A building in the area was also evacuated, but people were allowed to go back inside when the all clear was given.
