
Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) -- The Highway Patrol is investigating a collision on Interstate 26 Saturday night that killed two people--including a child-- and sent another seven to the hospital. The incident took place near mile marker 142 at approximately 10:20 p.m. That location is roughly five miles east of Orangeburg. According to officers, five vehicles were all traveling in the eastbound lanes. One car hit a van carrying a trailer from behind, which set off a chain reaction which led to five separate collisions. Victor Felder, 56, from St. George and Isaiah Johnson, age five, both died in the resulting accident. Seven occupants in three of the four other vehicles had to be taken to the hospital. At least one other child was hurt. The incident remains under investigation.
