Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Road trips are always such a challenge with elementary school aged kids, keeping them occupied for hours on end is tough. How many different ways can we keep them entertained in the car?
How about keeping them entertained, along with a little friendly competition between family members -- and all the while testing geography knowledge?
Today's App of The Day will do all that - Stack The States.
How well do you know your geography?
How about your kids? Now the goal here isn't to beat the pants of them with your knowledge, but to help 'em learn with Stack The States.
This will test your knowledge of state capitals, shapes, state abbreviations, what states they're close to, even where they are on the map.
Inside the app you can create six different player profiles - so you and everyone in the family can log in separately to track personal progress, and of course compare scores and see who does the best.
As you play and answer questions correctly you earn a state shape - you're goal is to stack the states up one on top of another to cross the goal line. Once you cross the line you'll finish that level and earn another state for your permanent collection.
This is the free version - and the paid version is just $0.99 in the iTunes app store - this one unfortunately is just for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
