McLean, VA (written by Nancy Blair/USA Today) -- Twitter's service disruptions are due to a "cascaded bug" in an infrastructure component, the company said in tweet that promises "updated information soon."
Update at 2:23 p.m. ET: Users reported a second, shorter outage that ended around 2:10 p.m.
Update at 1:40 p.m. ET: The service is back up. The Twitter status blog now reads: " The issue has been resolved and all services are currently operational."
Twitter is experiencing an outage for some users, according to various reports across the Web.
The Verge is reporting that the site is down for people in the U.S. and other countries.
On its official status blog, Twitter says:
"Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue."
