Gamecocks guard La'Keisha Sutton
Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- Senior guard La'Keisha Sutton set a South Carolina career mark as she tallied her 1,000th point in USC's 66-21 win over South Carolina State.
The 21 points by the Lady Bulldogs is also a Gamecock record of fewest allowed. The previous record of 24 was set February 3, 1992 in a 67-24 victory over Georgia Southern.
Sutton and Tina Roy paced the Gamecocks with 12 points each. This was also the 100th game as a Gamecock for head coach Dawn Staley. South Carolina are back at it Sunday Dec. 18. They will travel to Myrtle Beach to take on No. 18/16 North Carolina.
