Deputies Arrest Five in Narcotics Raid

Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County Sheriff's Office narcotics investigators executed a search warrant for a residence on Dixon Rd. in Elgin in the area known as Dixonville, a section of Kershaw County with a history and reputation for drug activity.

On Friday, January 20th, deputies seized crack cocaine from a number of individuals in the residence. Deputies said animal control also removed eight pitbulls and one rottweiler that were malnourished and living in unacceptable conditions. While the officers were searching the residence drug users drove up to the residence to buy, but quickly left when they saw what was going on, according to authorities.

The following individuals were arrested:

Terrance Ayria Dixon,24, was charged with unlawful possesson of Schedule II narcotics. Deputies said at the time of his arrest, Dixon was out on bond for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Brandon Dixon, 23, was charged with possession of crack cocaine (3rd offense), unlawful possession of schedule II narcotic. Brandon Dixon is currently on probation for prior drug convictions.

James Perry Arthur, 21, was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and PWID crack cocaine in proximity of a school.

Nathaniel Walter Brown, 21, was charged with possession of crack cocaine.  Deputies said Brown is currently out on bond for attempted armed robbery and weapons charges.

Anthony Martais Cooke, 36, was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possesion with intent to distribute crack cocaine in proximity of a school.

Jonathan Lemuel Nelson, 24, was not arrested at the scene. Deputies said warrants for possession of crack cocaine and unlawful possession of Schedule III controlled substances are outstanding.

According to Sheriff Jim Matthews, Dixonville has been a problem area for years.
