Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Charges have been downgraded in a fatal car crash from last October that left two children dead.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety says Robert Craft of Pelion now is charged with DUI second degree. He was originally charged with felony DUI resulting in death.
Back on October 28th, troopers say Craft was driving down SC 6 near Foxborough Boulevard when he collided with another vehicle. Inside the other car were 10-year-old Haley Upchurch and 7-year-old Cameron Upchurch.
Cameron died on the day of the collision, and Haley passed away several days later.
A spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety said charges were downgraded because a report by accident investigators concluded there wasn't enough evidence to support the original charge.
