Washington, DC (WLTX) -- There's an important safety recall parents need to know about.
It involves about 2 million baby bathers of the small Mother's Touch Baby Bather and small Deluxe Baby Bather imported by Summer Infant Inc.
The recall says when the product is misused as an infant carrier, the headrest may fold and the child could fall from the bather.
Summer Infant and the US CPSC have received 7 reports of incidents, including 5 head injuries from falls.
The company says parents should look for a model number on either on the side of the baby bather near the warning label, or on the front near the wash instructions.
The bathers were sold nationwide and on the Web from September 2004 through November 2011 for between $15 and $30.
Customers should contact Summer Infant Inc. for a free repair kit which includes a locking strap and instructions.
The company can be reached at 1-800-426-4627 between 8 AM and 5 PM ET Monday through Friday.
