Columbia Police Bomb techs on Fairmont Road.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) Bomb techs from the Columbia Police department detonated two book bags on Fairmont Road Monday night after a report of a suspicious package, that according to police.
Jennifer Timmons, spokesperson for the Columbia Police department said that two book bags were detonated. No explosives were detected but Timmons says they "decided to err on the side of caution."
The report was called in by a neighbor.
The Columbia Fire department arrived first and then notified the bomb techs.
The incident happened around 7:00 off Leesburg road in Columbia. Roads were blocked at Fairmont and Beckley drive for a few hours.
