Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Highway I-26 near mile marker 97 is open again after a three car wreck blocked eastbound traffic lanes for about two hours.
According to Trooper Brent Kelly, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling West on I-26 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, drove through the cable barrier and crossed into the East bound lanes.
Trooper Kelly says the Ford struck a 2008 Saturn, which then struck a 2008 Toyota.
Highway Patrol officials say the driver of the Toyota ran off the right side of the road, after being struck, and hit a guard rail.
According to Trooper Kelly, at least 8 people have been taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Charges have not yet been filed and no names have been released.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol Continues to investigate this incident.
