West Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- A worker at the Otis Spunkmeyer Bakery in West Columbia died in an accident. The company says the woman died in an accident late Wednesday.
The Lexington County Coroner says that 47 year old Susan C. Henley of Columbia had entered the loading dock to unload a truck, and she was found beneath the loading dock plate. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The company is not releasing any information about the accident at this time. A statement from Otis Spunkmeyer says the bakery is closed until an investigation is complete.
A spokesperson for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration tells News19 they are aware of the accident and are working to determine if the agency needs to launch its own investigation.
The Lexington County Coroner's office continues to investigate the accident.
