Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The cause of Thursday's wreck between a school bus and a Cadillac truck that sent 15 people to the hospital has been released by SC Highway Patrol.
According to Highway Patrol the driver of the pickup truck, 27 year old Veronica Hernandez of Columbia, failed to yield right of way to the bus before attempting to make a left turn onto Interstate 20.
When the bus carrying Eau Claire High School students was traveling south on Monticello Road, Hernandez was driving north and attempted to make a left turn to the westbound on-ramp for I-20, striking the bus in the side.
Hernandez was charged with failure to yield right-of-way, and the 15 transported to the hospital were treated for minor injuries.
