Saluda, SC (WLTX) - Saluda High School band members and families take a moment of silence in memory of Joye Andrews.

Earlier this week we told you the heartbreaking story about a father trying to save both of his daughters from a burning car, but unfortunately he was only able to get one out safely. Previous Coverage: Father Saves Daughter, Loses Another as Car Explodes

Friday, 17-year-old Joye Andrews' band members honored her at Saluda High School.

"It's already emotional, just seeing her not here right now," said band member Shelby Berry.

Before the start of the game against Chapman...they paused for a moment of silence for Joye.

"It's like losing your kids, I have 2 small kids and about 90 other kids and it is just really tough and hits home," said band teacher, Allison Shealy.

The school took up donations to help the family with funeral costs and the band also put on a performance after the game in memory of Joye.

"We just want to keep going because Joye was a go getter and she would not want us to stop so we want to dedicate our show to her and really work hard and have a good season for her."
