Columbia, SC (WLTX) - When fans tailgate in Columbia they bring tv's, tents, grills and boats?
"Family tradition, cheering on the gamecocks," said USC fan Brian Spencer.
During Gamecock football seasons tailgating is a tradition for Spencer.
"My mother and father started this 15 years ago."
When Spencer moved back to Columbia five years ago, his parents gave him their tailgate spot.
"This has been 4 years for me so we have gone to 14 seasons in a row."
But his pregame experience is a little different than others - it's on a boat.
"We get a lot of odd and off the wall comments. People say they love the Cockaboat, everyone sees it they cheer it on, and it's great."
Spencer has named his tailgate set up the "Cockaboat" saying the best part about it is the breeze.
"Everyone is down truck level and the wind is blowing over the top of everyone's tents and stuff but we catch the air because we are on top of the boat."
As impressive as this boat may be, "hope to make a lot of upgrades to the boat, hopefully the gamecocks give us another good season and we will get a new paint job."
To Spencer, there is no better way to tailgate.
