Fairfield County, SC (WLTX) - Fairfield County deputies are part of a group searching for two missing teens from North Carolina.
Jake Ziegler and Ray Pierce of Catawba County, North Carolina (which is north of Charlotte) were last seen on October 13. The two were on their way to Myrtle Beach.
The two were traveling along Interstate 77 into South Carolina from their home. Their cell phones last pinged off a tower in Fairfield County around 2:30 a.m. on the 13th.
Fairfield County deputies are actively searching side and secondary roads in the area just off of I-77 near mile marker 48.
Ziegler and Pierce were driving a green 2006 Pontiac G-6. The vehicle has a North Carolina license plate with number is BDD-8844 (NC) and a VIN of 1G2ZH558264233931 .
Investigators say the two are missing and presumed endangered. Anyone who has information on their disappearance should call Lieutenant Aaron Turk with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office at 828-464-3112.
