Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - State troopers say a woman has died from injuries sustained in a collision between a motorcycle and a deer.

The collision took place on October 21 on Foxglen Road around 5 p.m.

According to troopers, the woman, identified as 48-year-old Lyne Wilke, was a passenger on a Harley Davidson being driven by a 55-year-old man. Investigators say as the pair were riding down the road on the bike, they encountered a group of deer in the road. The driver struck one of them and laid his bike down on the left side, and Wilkie was thrown from the bike.

She was not wearing a helmet, according to troopers.

Wilke was taken to Palmetto Richland, where she died on October 24. The driver had minor injuries.
