NEW YORK (AP) - Mayor Michael Bloomberg says New York City Marathon is canceled.
The mayor's decision came after an outcry against going ahead with the road race, saying it would take away from New Yorkers who are without power and homeless because of Hurricane Sandy.
No new date has been announced for the race.
