Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Columbia Fire Department and Irmo Fire Department responded to a two structure fire at the South Carolina Department of Corrections Sunday night.
Brick Lewis, Public Information Officer with the Columbia Fire Department, says a call came in at 7:15 pm about flames on the grounds of the Walden Correctional Institution.
Structure One is a barn that stores farm equipment and the 2nd structure is a one story office building. No word on how the fire started.
More than 8 fire engines and 30 firefighters were on scene working to put out the flames.
No injuries have been reported. The South Carolina Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
