Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Former South Carolina State Treasurer Thomas Ravenel may be considering a return to politics.
Ravenel posted a message on his Facebook page where he indicated he may be looking at running for the vacant U.S. House District One seat.
"Yes I'm considering a comeback but I'm not sure if the timing of this race is right for me," Ravenel wrote.
The deadline to file for the seat is later this month.
Ravenel was elected state treasurer in 2006, but had to resign from office in 2007 after he was indicted on a drug-related charge. He eventually pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
