Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police arrested a man they say was driving drunk on Interstate 126 while he had three underage girls in the vehicle.
Officers have charged 51-year-old Don Milton Morris Jr. with speeding, DUI, and child endangerment.
Tuesday night around 10:20, an officer saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed down I-126. The CPD incident report states the officer measured his speed at 79 miles an hour in a 60 miles an hour zone.
The officer pulled over the vehicle, and says he found Morris and three 13-year-old girls in the car. The report states Morris had slurred speech, and when asked if he'd been drinking, Morris responded that he'd had a few beers. He told officers he was going to picks up a relative and her friends.
The report goes on to say Morris failed a field sobriety test. At the police station, the officer reported that Morris blew a .16 blood alcohol test, which is twice the legal limit.
