Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The trial against a man charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of another man after a 2010 USC football game will go before a jury Tuesday.
A judge heard pre-trial motions Monday in the case of 27-year-old Curtis Sims.
Sims faces five years in prison on charges of involuntary manslaughter and breach of peace.
Police say Simms was riding in a truck after the 2010 USC win over Alabama when a verbal confrontation broke out with people in another truck. Simms and then 21 year old Allen Gasque got out of the trucks.
Simms punched Gasque and knocked him into the roadway, according to police. That's when the truck Gasque was riding in ran over and killed him.
According to testimony in pre-trial hearings, Simms cooperated with police questioning at the time of the incident.
